MacBook Pro with GeForce 8800M GTX?

Does anyone know if the MacBook Pro will be available with the Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX in the near future?

Nobody knows, but given the power and thermal requirements for that I wouldn't hold your breath. You are more likely to see an updated ATi card or Nvidia 9600 than the 8800GTX.

Thanks for the response.

I’m very interested in taking the Apple plunge but the video card options are weak.

as seablade said... highly unlikely.

They are standard, not weak. Given Alienware can't even keep them cool in their brick 15" laptop they probably wont make it to the Mac. But the 512mb 8600 in the new MBP's is a decent card and is better than the average off the shelf notebook anyway. I play COD4, COH and few others when time permitting with out any issues.

mac notebooks are all about aesthetics, i would bet a 2 inch base and power brick the size of a small child will put most mac users off. While it may sound tempting, i dont think apple would go for it, but ive been wrong more times than i care to count.
