WTB: GPU for i9300

Thread Starter
i've recently aquired an old i9300 but the videocard is shot, boots up with all sorts of weird lines and glitches..

anyway i'm looking for a replacement gpu.

idealy i'd like to buy a 7800gtx at the lowest price possible, but will accept 6800's and possibly an x300 (i think) if the price is right.

also if anyone has a cheap pin-mod-able cpu i might be interested.

thanks!

ps: anyone know any ideas for removing stripped screws? its got 1 that i just can't get out.

Thanks Djembe, without being able to take out that screw i wouldn't have been able to even replace the videocard!

Also does anyone know where i can buy a 7800gtx go card at a realistic price? how much does Dell charge?
i remember paying like 400$ or something but that was about the time that card came out.

I'm not sure and I maybe wrong but, I don't think Dell sells the 7800GTX go any more.
Which would probably explain why they're so expensive now.

Would you be interested in a Quadro 1400go for $100 shipped? It is equivelent to a 6800go and is clocked at 300mhz core, 600mhz memory (GDDR1). It came out of my Precision M70 which I parted out, and is compatible with the 9300. It might require the XPS bios mod, but it does not require the 9-cell battery or 130W power supply.

hm i might take you up on that offer, considering i do alot of 3d modeling/animating/level design that card would be much better suited for me.

last call on a 7800gtx, or even a 6800 Ultra anyone?

win32asmguy i'l let you know in a few days.
