New Options and Price Drops

Thread Starter
OK so wouldn't you know it a week after I buy my laptop they get some new options and change the prices.

But never fear dell has price protection for 30 days as long as you ask for it so I should be getting about $70 back due to the drops in prices.

But the new Options are

No more white : )
Super High Def Screen 1920x 1200
T8300 now included in price on the Best Option.

Hi,

I just ordered an m1530 with the normal WXGA+ LCD monitor last week, and just noticed today that option for an LED-backlit version of this same monitor.

Could anyone explain to me the benefits of the LED-backlit version over the version mine is shipping with?

Thanks a lot.

a little brighter, less battery usage (don't know by how much)

LED is only on the Small Business option - not Home. I have two configurations saved right now w/T8300, 4gb, 320hd's - the Home has the regular LCD and 3 years warranty and accident and Vista business for $1575 after a $600 discount. The Small business one has the new LED, Vista Prem, the Dell WiFi card (why?!?) and no accidential insurance for abotu $100 more.

I am just really worried I'll get a bad Samsung display with the first version!

if you have a good ccfl screen you won't notice much but the power usage.

if you have a poor ccfl screen the difference is like day and night. led has more contrast better lighting and longer battery life.
