1) you havea t7500. I upgraded to a t9500. The 9500 is not only more powerful, it is a LOT better with power management. That upgrade alone will get you around 20-30minutes extra battery life (cnet ran two identical laptops through their paces and got 20 extra minutes with the t9500).
2)you have a 7200pm drive. They suck battery life. I've seen comparisons between 7200 rpm drives a nd 5400rpm drives, where just that one change gave an exra 25-35 minutes. I have an SSD drive. I haven't seen comparisons, but it uses a fraction of the power that any hd does.
3) use? I primarily use my lap top on the train, with wireless and bluetooth turned off (although my sprint evdo card is on, but thats a low-us item). lighting is good, so I have the screen turned down low, and I use power saving mode. I don't use the cd rom drive at all.
4) I'm basing the 4 hour number off windows power meter, which isn't entirely accurate. I've never ran the battry down to nothing and timed it-- but I have used it oer 3 hours continuously and power meter says I hav 50 minutes lef.
