Never bought, and honestly wouldn't buy, a Sony Vaio. I find them overpriced, and with too much emphasis on form over functionality (which is why I prefer Thinkpads. Overpriced with functionality over form).
At any rate, it looks like there's a chance I may be getting a VGN-SZ660NC in the next month for next to nothing, if not free.
• 13.3" LCD
• nVidia 8400 & intel onboard
• Intel Core 2 Duo T7500
• 160GB hard drive
• Burn DVDs and CDs
• 2GB of DDR2 memory (Would bump this up to 4gb and swap RAM with my HP if I were to sell the HP)
• Built-in 802.11abgn wireless
• Windows Vista Business
I could sell it to pay off my Thinkpad, or sell my HP..as a 4th laptop is too many, and I'm going to look at selling my Dell soon, a 5th is just right out, and the T61 will have more power than the DV9500. Arguably, I could lose the EEE as well, as the SZ would be small enough to use as a GPS in the car.
But, is there anything in particular I should know about these systems that could sway my decision one way or the other? How Linux friendly are they?
