Reinstallation

I just used the reinstall disk on my e1705 and it won't let me get on the internet. I know it isn't a problem with my cable modem or router because when I boot into Linux (on the same computer) it will connect me to the internet. I put in the driver disc that came with it and it says I have the right drivers installed. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

You're not using wireless correct?

Check device manager to see what drivers are missing - that'll tell you better than the driver CD.

you gotta share a bit more info for others to help you out. are you trying a wireless or wired connection? and hopefully you've tried both.

are you able to get an ip from the router, or a generic one like 169.xxx?

as Jeff said, are your devices even working? make sure your device manager doesn't have exclamations for at least your network/ethernet adapters. get the drivers from dell.com if there are any
