Can I opt for another notebook if my M1710 gets replaced.

Hi,

Today, dell decided to replace my notebook from my sig, so I will get a new one. But they're going to replace it with the same item... Can't I call back tomorrow and ask dell to replace it with another system?

Like an XPS 420 or M1330?

Your replacement GPU is more than likely going to be the 7950 so I wouldn't be to flustered. I doubt they have anymore 7900 systems left.

Well they actually replaced the GS7900 this friday by a new one...

Can't I ask for something else? Or a coupon or something like that?

No, the warranty states equal or greater value I believe. In this case you are getting equal value.

Look at the Dell Outlet. If they have 1710's in stock that match you or better, you get a 1710. If they have none of those, you get a 1730 most likely with a x7900 since they are giving those out like hotcakes...

actually Dell is replacing my 9400/1705 and they are giving the 1720, not the 1730. I even tried to point out that the top graphics on teh 1720 is less than the 7900gs I had on the 1705.
