Latitude 630 Boot Problem

Thread Starter
My Dell Latitude D630 has developed a boot problem yesterday. When pressing the power button, the scroll lock led and the lock led with the down arrow in the middle blink respeatedly. The lock led with the number 9 stays on solid. The hard drive does not spin up, nor the fan. After about 60 seconds on this, the laptop shuts itself off. I've reseated the memory and hard drive, as well as the battery. After trying 10 or 12 times, the laptop will finally power up and boot, and remain on just fine.

Any ideas?

Are you still having this problem, or did you figure anything out? I am having a very similar and sporadic problem with my Dell 630c.

The POST error you're getting with the lock LEDs says "No SO-DIMMs are installed" Either the problem is your memory modules or the memory sockets on the motherboard. Have you tried the modules individually in either socket?
