go look at a quake 3 benchmark with a 2 ghz processor and then a 3.06

the 3.06 kills it in fps, a lot of games in the future are using the cpu for all its worth. Games that take advantage of all those ai calculations. Try running battle field 1942 with 64 bots on a 1.8ghz and then with the fastest processor out. The performance gain will be astonishing. 3dmark doesnt use your cpu at all barely (well 2001) 2003 doesnt use your cpu at all. I've seen a 1.2ghz computer score in the 4000's just as those 3.06Ghz systems.

but yea what the future holds for us gamers is something special. Well even now whats out is truly amazing!

I'm not going to jump in the middle of this, but I have a question for Dekka. You said that D800 is the fastest laptop in the world for hardcore gamers. What makes you say this? I was reading on C|Net about the D800 and the new one from Acer, and it looks to me like the Acer wastes the D800. Well, maybe not waste, but beats it handily.

Could you provide me a link or something to give me some more info?

Someguy the acer doesnt have a go4200 therefore it wont beat the D800. So come april the true battle will be between the inspirion 8500 with its 2.4ghz p4m and the D800 with the 1.6Ghz centrino pentium m.

both have the nvidia go 4200

Dont start a war here come online for a BF1942 game and frag the crap outta each other there...

Who cares what is going to be the fastest - when you see it Dell/Sager/Tosh you will just buy it without all this nonsense right?

NO I intend to fight with my sager when I get it, I'll use it as a battering ram/Sheild/Oven/Heater/weights and I'll lean it against the door since the locks broken so nobody can enter.

Oh and...

Just a note - dont take any benchmarks in like a bunch of nitwits

I can make my laptop get 10000 on the 2001 SE by changing settings.

only - with those settings the games will look like crap and the gpu will be ready for eating in approx 20 minutes.

Wait till users get their hands on it and test it and post their results...I never trust Anandtech or anyones benchmarks - havta see for myself...

I find this thread really amusing. You guys do realize the Dell isn't available *right now* either? right?

To argue that the Sager coming out soon (but not available yet) isn't relevant, but somehow the Dell that's coming out soon (but not available yet) counts is goofy

Maybe Alienware will jump the gun with the m10 like they did with hyperthreading, and allow pre-ordering like Dell. Then the Clevo will be the fastest vaporware around

I think there are going to be a lot of nice lappies coming out between now & the end of summer. I'm sure glad I've been able to wait

ericjpet your my hero! nah nah really I cant wait to see the new stuff. I've waited since freaken november for the m10, waiting a few more months wont kill me lol. But your theory on all this is damn true man.

the dells are out yet they wont send them to the customers for an entire month because?!

Ok I am making a statement!!!

Dell will NEVER rule the laptop gaming market

I thought this war was bad - I just realized it might be fun if it will pump up the action and get you guys to agree on playing this weekend!!

I do so badly wanna make some kills in BF1942!!
