I've done this and it wasn't easy. I've forced an HP with and AMD to run Xp64 instead of Vista, a couple of Dells and now a Sony VGN-FZ340e. The way to attack is first slipstream a xp pro disk with the sata drivers included and I also went ahead and put the Serv Pack 3 in then search the sony site for an earlier sony that came with Xp instead of vista and download the drivers for it that you need. This was the sigmatel driver I got to work finally
STDAUD-01108002-US.EXE and here is the machine I used to get the drivers for the VGNSZ330 I found the BRDBLT-14408700-us.exe had bluetooth drivers that worked and the rest I just searched down one at a time. Get the chipset from intel PM965 and wireless is a intel 4965, video is Nvidia geforce 8400m gt but the g works fine. I would post the drivers if there was a place to do it about 80mgs worth. It is a battle, but one that can be won. The sony drivers won't let you install them straight up they look for the correct model board so you just extract them from the exe file and then use the drivers they work fine at that point.
