EEE 9-inch Release Dates Announced

Thread Starter
This ties in very closely with the last news thread I started, and for Duke it might be a little bittersweet.

According to the people over at vr-zone Release dates are as follows
Quote:
International Launch Schedule

Hong Kong - 15th Apr

France - 17th Apr

Taiwan - 21st Apr

Singapore - 23rd Apr

UK - End Apr

Australia - End Apr or early May

Germany - May

Italy -May
Still there is no official release date for the US. Engadget is reporting updated pricing figures at $500 - $650 US, which is consistent with the GB pricing seen on CNET.

And yesterday ASUS made the final specs official.

Also, there's no news on when the Atom Proccessor is to be integrated into the design.

XP according to engadget

Not worth it, get the linux model with the bigger drive and use an ol' copy of xp

Its a little tricky to load it (need to lite it first) but once you have xp on it, you can keep an acronis image in an SD card and reinstall linux/xandros from a usb stick; swapping between them if you want

how do you "lite" xp?

I'm guessing that the US won't see it until the Atom version comes out. Asus North America is fairly demanding and only wants products with specs they feel would appeal to a more demanding US market.

nlite (which is easy part, I found it was tricky to get the boot from usb sequence down to load xp, got there in the end)
