9300 Keyboard: Warranty Replacement Issue & Modification to lighted, silver or white

WARRANTY ISSUE:

I recently had the 9300 keyboard replaced under warranty (the tech suggested since my keyboard was dirty etc). I have the original as well.

Original Model:
A196 - KFRMB2 Series Rev A00 - Made in China (Crossswitch / Scissor mechanism)

The new keyboard has a squidgy feel to it. I have a fractured right thumb so I cant play around and remove it to check the model of new keyboard. I will post it when the tech comes around.

I called Dell Tech Support for another replacement and asked if I could request a specific keyboard and they said they only have one kit:
R8690.

Is there any way I could request a keyboard that matches the original in USAGE FEEL? What would that kit number be? Any have some way to find that out?

MODIFICATION:

Is it possible to replace this with a Lighted (Backlit), Silver or White keyboard?
What models, part numbers / kit numbers would they all be?
Estimated costs?
Where to buy?

Could I trick / coax Dell into sending me one these parts / kits?

There is no way of knowing which rev or version f keyboard you will get. i is as they stated a Kit.

You maybe able to locate that part number through a third party such as Ebay etc. but of course it will not be a warranty item.

As for the lighted keyboard, the quick reply is no. It would require mods to the mainboard which are risky at best.

I try not to advertise, but I still have a XPS2 (black) keyboard that I used two weeks total and is no longer being used at all. If you really want the old school feel then this would do the trick. Of course it may not match your color scheme now. Anyway, just PM me or something if you are interested.

No, but when I say like new I mean like new....There is no sign that the keyboard has ever been used. Its sitting in a box 3 hrs away from me now but I might be able to take pics 2 weeks from now.
