greetings, I will absolutely hugely appreciate any feedback and help from all you guys. I've checked the entire forum and found 2 similar threads but with no solutions in them.
Running: WVISTA 32x 2 gig ram 160 gigs core2 duo processor
drive info: Device Type: DVD/CD-Rom
Vendor ID: HL-DT-ST
Product ID: DVDRW GSA-S10N
Product Rev: A100
Vendor Info: 010625071M7CBI5320
THE PROBLEM
When burning movies into dvd-r format which is suposedly supported by the drive the process completes, but all the movies I burn play laggy and jump from position to position, and when burning the same iso file with my pioneer drive of my desktop I have no issues at all.
Also tried installing the firmware update A101 from dell site, but the update program doesn't run.
I have tried 3 dvd brands and tried playing the dvds in different drives getting always the same results.
WHAT I'VE DONE
tried different burn speeds with the same result, different brands of dvds with the same result, factory restore of the laptop getting the same result, called dell tech support said it was drive failure, they came and replace the drive, it still can't update the firmware and the movies still burn like shite.
PLease plz plz advice
