I have a new T61P and I am very happy.
However the keyboard is somewhat foreign to me and I cannot locate a user manual.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes I have looked over the lenovo site.

for example... how do I use the 3rd function on a three function key.
I am familiar with Alt+key but this does not work.
The second function of Shift +key is OK

The keys on a ThinkPad keyboard only have up to two functions max. To use the numeric keypad one first needs to first switch NumLk mode on by pressing Fn+ScrLk.

Then to enter special ASCII characters, like say "©" press the Alt key along with the ASCII key sequence using the numeric keypad keys. IOW, "©" = Alt+0169.
