Old school E1705 GS to GTX mod HELP please

Hey all
I got an E1705 here I love to death, rockin machine with a 7900GS 256 card in it revision 1.
I had an E1705 a year ago I flashed to be a 7900GTX running at 600 X 800 with the volt mod, this was done in hardware software bios, so No matter what operating system, the card ran at those speeds, I got about 5300+ on 3dmark 2006 PERFECT system with heat and battery and performance, to bad i sold it being dumb.

Here i am with my new E1705 and Im trying to do the same thing but all the oldschool methods and links are dead or down and gone and now all I see is one method that unlocks to 7900GS http://www.notebookforums.com/thread185501.html
I tried that but its NOT what i want, i want my card to run flashed at 600 core and 800 memory always regardless of whatever nvidia driver or control panel or software i use.

I cant find anything that will let me do this, I get about 3700 in 3dmark 2006 with stock speeds, it SUCKS

Please help me out, How can i get my card flashed to run at 600X800 all the time?

My specs
I9400
17 inch WUXGA Sharp lcd
2.0 ghz T7200
2 GB ram
320 GB 7200 rpm western digital HD
dvd burner
Dell wifi N
Bluetooth
7900 GS Rev 1 with single heat pipe config

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!
I will even be willing to send you like a dollar or two via paypal if you can help me totally, its that worth it to me

This is the old link/thread i used to flash my old E1705 with a rev 0 card...
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=11766
nothing works on that anymore, all links shot dead, i hear that wont work on Rev 1's either...

Thanks

Your rev1 will not go as high as a rev0 as the bios available does not optimise the vram, i have bios cd images in my sig you can download but make sure you use the right one. Either that or use nibitor to load your own video bios and make a copy of it with some higher clock speeds, and then once you have a bios ready use nvflash to flash it to your card. Always keep a copy of the original just in case things go wrong.

You dont have to pay for advice here. You need to find out if you have a rev0 or rev1 GS first (you already said you have a rev1). You can check my signature under "Dell roms" to find out your options. However, these roms are not provided in bootable form. I think Doughy has these roms in bootable form in his signature under "Dell Notebook BIOS CD". Regardless though, if you have a rev1 GS it will not be able to overclock nearly as far as a rev0 card. The rev1 card uses lower quality (same reliablility) parts.

You can either mod a 7900GS rev1 rom to your preferred frequencies or 7900GTX rev1 rom to your preferred frequencies. However, you will have to do this on your own as no one makes "hardmodded" boot cd's anymore and they never made them for the GS rev1. If you need help though then just post here.

alright thanks guys, yeah i have the REV1 card and not loving it..
SO i used the link of the Dell notebook ISO on Doughy's sig and went into the iso checked them out, went and burned it to a cd and booted the lappy from it and Once it booted into caldera dos i typed Z: and enter and then NVFLASH 791GTXU.rom and enter, the system doesnt dreeze but the disc drive just spins for ever, doesnt do anything, i tried to 791GSU.rom to and same thing happens, I figure if i can get the GTX bios working itll run atock at 500 core and 600 memory and Im good to go, I cant get those to work, any ideas?

with juans iso flash i can use Ntune to get up to 550 core and 580 memory MAX, any further on either slider and they fail...this sucks...my 00 card used to be able to ramp up at 650 core and 830 memory and with a fan controlling app i could keep it under 160F under load, it was a sweet setup..i may sell this laptop now to get a better one since i cant get the graphics performance i wanted..bummer..i love the whole I9200 I9300 I9400 XPS M170 M1710 Gen 2 series.

The boot cd in Doughy's signature was not made by ordinary methods. I'll make the roms bootable soon and give him the iso.

As everyone has stated the Rev 0 cards could be clock significantly higher mind you 650/830 is pretty darn high my Rev 0 only went 620/850 but there you go.

The Rev 1 cards did not seem to like the OC as much,

thanks for the response!
Yeah If anyone could help me out by making a bootable iso that has 1 bios on it a Rev 1 bios with the 1.24C mod with clocks that are Core 550 and Mem 580 i would MUCH appreciate it! Ive tried making my own but have wasted about 19 cd's doing so..lol

I have a link to a tutorial in my signature under bootable recovery. It is straightforward and easy to follow. I recommend you putting both the "locked" and "unlocked" versions (depending on which one you need for the specific driver) of the GS rev1 rom and GTX rev1 rom on there and finding your preferred frequencies. Then just go back and edit the rom with nibitor to reflect your desired clocks. Presto, your card runs those frequencies in any OS with genuine nvidia drivers.

Oh dear, the stormlifter iso does not contain bios images for rev 1, and the rom you have specified is not on that cd either. 791GSUNV.ROM is on Juanlu Bios CD

i did, It doesn't actually post, nothing works..when I say No post, it wont get far enough to blind flash. No post = No bios = No blind flash
Nothing happens but the hard drive gets power and not a single other thing works. its acting like it dead, not just from video everything.

its not just a no video issue. i have and can blind flash when there is no video, Not when the whole system isnt booting.

ok, it sounds like it has bigger problems than the video, i agree just get them to collect it and sort something out.
