Acer Aspire 5021 recovery without recovery partition - possible?

Hi all,

Once I bought my old 5021 with XP home OEM i immediately formatted and deleted all partitions and created new ones due to personal comfort. Iwas working 3 years on windows xp pro which I had original copy from MSDN AA. But now, I'm not a student anymore and I would go back to the system which was originally supplied with my laptop.

I have 2 recovery cds from Acer and I tried to recover my os from them. The first cd seemed to be well read, and I was promped to enter the next cd. Okay - the progress goes up to 75% and then it asks me again to "enter next cd"
But I do not have the 3rd CD! and never had such. There were for sure only 2 recovery cds from the beginning. Trying to reenter the first or second doesn't make any result. Still asks for the "next cd".

The progress seems to stop at:
current file: \WINDOWS\INF\NETPSA.INF"

(EDIT
I figured out which file in fact is causing problems. When supplying 2st cd again, the information box appears:

"Cannot open image file X\IMAGES\6084C017.GHS [DOSerror: access denied (0x0005
] (10010)

I checked this cd on another computer and
6084C017.GHS apears in IMAGES folder.
Does this mean the cd is corrupted? I haven't used it so far!?

Please help

Try Acer themselves or take a peek on EBay
