HDMI port problem

hi all,

I just bought the p6831-fx a few weeks ago. and i have been running the hdmi out to my bravia 1080p lcd tv with no problems.

until tonight that is. i plugged it in, and hear the sound windows makes when u insert the cable. but no video to the tv. windows recognizes the monitor but no matter what i do i cannot get video to display onto the tv. the tv and cable are fine because ive tested them with other sources.

is it possible my hdmi port on the laptop went bad?

my xbox 360, and digital cable box both work fine on my bravia. I tested those two, and the laptop with the same cable.

The PC detects the TV when i plug the hdmi cable in, and i can go into the nvidia control panel and clone the display, etc. The laptop just will not seem to output the video. I tested on XP and Vista to make sure, even though i hadn't changed anything since it last worked.

nope, just plug in and play. I did actually use a different HDMI cable last night, so thats why im thinking maybe that screwed up my hdmi port on the laptop. Im not sure how it could, but thats all i can come up with right now.
