9700 Video Bios update in "Run" folder...

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone who has ran the ATI 9700 Video Bios upgrade if you noticed anything starting everytime you boot windows.

Here is what happened: I downloaded the update to a local folder: Ran the update, which then rebooted my system. I assumed it would run it at startup or something. Well, the folder I had open keeps opening automatically, EVERY time I reboot.

I found that the update must have placed a statement in my HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run folder. (Just like spyware hehehe ) Now I could see putting a link to the executable in the "Run Once" folder, so it would run one time at reboot. I am wondering if this thing needs to run everytime. A Bios update should not have to launch in windows as it flashes a chip on the video card and then your done. I would have never noticed this had it not been opening that folder on my desktop everytime.

No big deal, just wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior. I just deleted the entry from the Run folder and assume everything is cool...

What specifically was the entry .. I didn't have anything left over in mone after I ran the update .. If it did maybe something happened on your machine that prevented it from deleteing it if it was actually something that was pout there bt the update in the first place ..

In the Run folder I had the string value with the path to the Winflash.exe

In my case it was c:\dell\drivers\video bios\winflash.exe.
Its where I extracted it to. So when I rebooted, it opened that folder on my desktop, and maybe re-ran that Winflash each time, I assume.

I could try and re-run the update, to see if it does it again, but its no big deal. Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience.
