HardwareOC Crysis Benchmark 1.2 Released

If you're not familiar with the 3rd party Crysis Benchmark Tool, now may be the time to get 'into the know'. This application allows you to run the Crytek-created Crysis GPU and CPU Benchmarks at customized resolutions/settings without starting the Crysis.exe game file.

The new 1.2 update includes support for custom screen resolutions and a screenshot option.

How does it compare to ver 1.0? The GUI looks alot better on this version...way less clutter. I'll give it a shot tonight.

does it work with the demo?

I'm not sure about that. Does the demo contain the normal CPU/GPU benchmark?
no

Are you sure? The normal benchmark is buried in the install directory - not available in game GUI.

then no I'm not sure.

If my brain wasn't mush these days...I could remember exactly where it was. Lemme find it...

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32\Benchmark_GPU.bat

The Crysis Benchmark Tool might work with the demo. Not sure how accurate the results would be - the full game has a couple of HUGE patches aimed directly at GPU rendering.

Still worth a shot though.

Wow I can't believe it was there the entire time.

does anyone know what the fixed resolution is for the crysis benchmark is?

If you're not running the benchmark tool talked about in this thread, it defaults to whatever you have it set to in game. So, you have to 1) start Crysis.exe, 2) set desired resolution and apply, 3) exit the game, 4) navigate to the .bat file and start the benchmark.

Oh... I figured it was a preset resolution

I don't believe it has a default setting - other than what quality settings/resolution the game determines for your GPU card.

What makes this tool awesome is you can set up whatever you want without going through the steps in my previous post. I think I read somewhere that Crytek was adding (or added) an additional GUI set in game to run the benchmark though a patch release.

i enjoy the fact that the benchmark is pretty fast... its over in like 2 minutes. sometimes 3dmarks just takes too long
