5792 audio issue

Well I have had this lappy for a month or two now and had no issues with the audio until the last couple of weeks.

Basically when I use the internal sound hardware it is cross feeding between the mic and the speaker....

IT does not matter whether I am using the builtin mic or an external plugged into the mic port....

Anyone have any ideas on this?

when I use the mic(push to talk hotkey) the other peoples voices feedback via my audio card.

Also, when I use a USB headset I do not get this so it seems to be something wrong with the builtin realtek audio.

that may just be a vent issue (it sounds like that is what you're using)

make sure you have the proper input and output selected in teh setup.

Go to the sound control panel, under recording tab click the microphone and select properties. New Window opens up...click the Levels tab. mute the microphone or turn the monitoring volume down to acceptable levels.

That should eliminate the feedback. You won't hear yourself talk but you should be able to live with that. If you want to monitor the microphone feedback you need to be using headphones.

Thanks for pointing out the problem is probably in ventrilo......

I have uninstalled and reinstalled vent and it did not fix the issue.....

I think I have it narrowed down to the speex codec. When I use any other it does not have this problem.....

Now I just need to find how to redo the speex codec....
