Satellite P105-6014 will not boot after hard shutdown

Hi,

I had not used this laptop in a few weeks so the battery was flat. I connected the power supply and booted normally.

I then tried to move the power supply to a different wall outlet, but the laptop immediately crashed as the battery had not sufficiently charged yet.

Now when I boot I get all normal lights & fan but no display. The HDD light & DVD light fllash in unison for a few seconds, then nothing. The AC & Battery charing light, fan remain on, but the display remains black.

If I eject the DVD I can get the HDD light to flash for a few seconds, otherwise I cannot get any response.

I tried removing the battery and power supply for 30 minutes, buy the symptoms remain.

Its about 2 years old and I assume out of warranty, so I would like to avoid the Toshiba service center if possible.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Try hooking it up to an external monitor to see if you get anything when booting. Also, try this: remove electric power, remove battery and hold in the power switch for about 30 secs. Then replace battery and hook up to a/c again and try to start

Thanks for the reply.

I went ahead and tried your suggestions and unfortunately the outcome is the same. I also tried booting without the memory inserted and oddly enough I did not get any beep error that I was expecting.

Does this sound like a motherboard failure ??

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had exactly the same problem!
Have a toshiba satellite p105-SP921.
fans blow light are on but nothing happens!

nalgarin - What was the outcome. Did you have to replace the motherboard ?

i,m sendingi it to warranty. i dont know when it expires, but i buy it near a year ago

i have the same problem with the same laptop model, what tell the toshiba tecnics about your problem, did they do a full detail of what they replaced?
