1521 up grade options

I confess I know nothing about AMD proccesors!!!

my girlfriend has dell insprion 1521 with a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55 1.8 GHz

and 894mb ram


running Vista

she says it slow!

My first thought is that the rams not enough

can some one tell me the upgrade options available is 2.2ghz the fastest cpu possible?
where is the best place to buy and whats the name of the chip

i think it needs 2gb ram too, same any body know any good deals?

i only really know XPS systems and are happy to change any parts on that, her computers in the UK

so i cant look at it

sorry for asking but im a newbie in AMD and 1521 systems

For Vista you want at LEAST 2GB. The processor should be alright for it...but you need more RAM. My other suggestion would be to get a copy of Windows XP if Vista is to slow. I really don't know what the fasted CPU that can be used with your board is. Might even be worth spending the $500 and just getting a new laptop. Check Newegg.com for the memory. They have a good selection and good prices.

EDIT: Didn't see the thing about being in the UK. Not sure of where to get some cheap memory over there.
