Some three weeks after it unveiled the first, but OEM-only tri-core Phenoms, AMD is introducing the retail-ready B3 Phenomn 8x50 processors. The new AM2+ parts are manufactured on 65nm, feature 2 MB of L2 cache and are in direct competition with Intel's E8000 series CPUs.

The three processors announced today are the 2.1GHz Phenom 8450, the 2.3 GHz 8650 and 2.4 GHz 8750. The prices set by AMD for the new tri-cores are of $145, $165 and $195.

The prices are low, but look what they have to compete with (ie. a Q6600 is currently $199, and prices are dropping).

i cant wait until AMD starts really competing again, and forces intel to drop its prices

B3 Triple cores = quad core that was screwed up. OEM's don't care because they get them cheap but everything I have read screams stay away.
