Blue Screen of Death help

Alright, I'm running a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS in my E1705 and I've been having some problems with the nasty BSOD. This is the error message I get:

*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted

It only seems to happen when I'm playing WoW... and its getting really annoying. I had thought it was an overheating problem before, but I've been able to keep my GPU temp under control pretty well lately. Any suggestions?

Sounds like what I had. probably heat issue or card is bad. See my post in this thread if you're handy at working on it.

Thanks. I'll try taking it apart and checking it out tomorrow if I can get around to it. I'll try to take some pictures too to see if anyone can spot something here.

I had this error after changing drivers before, i have not seen this in a year or so now and my card was not faulty. I think it was caused by bad driver installation or along those lines. Im using 169.04 drivers and have been since they were released, i think they are a rock solid driver.

Where can I get this driver from?

You can try that first bohm. If you don't like the Dell drivers you can try omega or other 3rd party drivers. Look in the sticky right above for Dell drivers.
Just to let you know though. I had the exact same issue and error code in 3d games. I tried removing the drivers, I used driver cleaner to remove all traces of the drivers. Then reinstall my Dell drivers from a fresh download. I still had the same problem after doing that. Thats when I modified and cleaned my GPU heatsync. After slapping it in my problems have disappeared. So far about 10 hours of gaming and no issues.
In all honesty, you SHOULD try different drivers first though.

New driver didn't work. I've got finals next week, so probably sometime after that I'll tear apart my computer and look at the Video card and take some pics.
