Connecting to TV as a monitor help

i have a 8886 and i want to watch my dvd on the tv instead of the laptop...is there anyway you can do this??? my tv doesnt have s-video, i have no idea how i can do it. and what does that short cord that came with the computer do(about 6 inches long)
any help would be apprciated

I do not have a sager and i never used the svideo, but i believe that your tv needs to have an s-video in...if not i think you can by an adapter that will work and allow you to watch dvd's on your tv from your notebook.

Someone correct me if im wrong, not really positive.

You just need and adapter

You need an RF to S-video adapter. Every Radio Shack sells em, and there are probably 100 sites on the web as well. Search on google for S-video to RF..

Just realize if you have a standard TV, you will only be able to run at 640x480 and maybe push it to 800x600. If you had an HDTV you could run at regular 1024x768 depending on your set.

My experience has been that DVD playback is marginally ok, but not nearly as good as if you had a dedicated DVD player, which you can pick up online for around 60 bucks. That is the way I would go if I were you.
