m1330 IR?

So does the m1330 have IR? and if it does how do I use it?

I read from two different places that the m1330 has IR and one site said it didn't. I also saw a picture that showed that it had IR.
I read in the manual that to use it you have to go into BIOS and turn it on. I went into BIOS and followed all the directions and there wasn't anything for the Ir. It also wasn't in the device manager.

I did not receive any remote in the express card slot that some people say they have. But I did try to program my logitech harmony 880 remote to work with this laptop, but I still don't get anything.
It would be very nice to have this work with my remote so If anyone knows anything on this that would be great.

I contacted dell and like usual their support is horrendous.
They had me on the phone for 1 hour just to say that I need to send it in to get the port replaced.
They had me update the BIOS. Is there supposed to be a setting in the BIOS?
or maybe something in the device manager?
I would really like to get this figured out since I would like to use the laptop as a htpc.
Has anyone ever sent a file to their m1330 using IR and you know that your port works because you have the dell remote?
Also does anyone happen to know the dell remote IR codes?

The Infra-red on the M1330 is only for the remote control. It is not a UIRT so no IrDA connections to PDAs.

O thanks. I guess that shows how smart the people from Dell are.

Will I be able yo use my logitech remote with it?

If a harmony remote can spoof the Dell one, you shouldn't have a problem.

It can spoof any remote as long as it is IR. The way those logitech remotes work is they hook into your computer. On your computer you install this program and you setup your remote in the program first. You can pretty much do whatever you want. To setup the remote to work with a certain device you just choose which type of device it is then go through all these sup-categories.
I did that for the m1330, it found the m1330 but the remote doesn't work with it. I'm guessing that the logitech program doesn't have the correct info on the m1330. So I was hoping one of you guys did.
