I am currently in phase 6 of my new m15x!!! However while ordering I chose against getting a smart bay hard drive because like everything else I know they'll get cheaper as time goes by and more are produced. I really wasnt thinking about where to get a smart bay hard drive once the price dropped. Does anyone know where I can purchase a smart bay battery or a smart bay hard drive? Thanks

Its an alienware exclusive that we know of so you would have to get them from alienware...

Yea, you can still get it on anything else you purchase from AW. Just remind them. They tend to "forget."

yeah i had to argue with a women over a 320 gig hard drive she swore up and down that they dont make a hard drive that big... and it took me like 30 minutes to get her to acknowledge that they do... also they never seem to like to give the 10 percent off you was have to stay on them about it...

I havent noticed a difference I just got a women that didnt know how to look things up on the computer....actually the best customer service that I have had in a long time was when i called JCpenny's and had to talk to them... after I talked to them I was like wow that never happens...

I think the guy I talked to first about the hard drives was named Evan and he knew his stuff...easy to talk too... the best thing to do is find a person that you like and remember there name and when you need something ask for them...

I could be wrong, but I think the gen 1 sentia may have been the last to have a smart bay battery, not sure though.

That said, there was 1 laptop battery website that had primary and smart bay batteries for sale, although primary only came in 1 color.

But that sentia was a uniwill model that they also sold direct minus all the flash and glitz.
Being as Im not familiar with the ODM AW used for the 15x, it may be a one off for them or they may allow the ODM to sell the custom design as ODM branded. If thats the case u might be able to find a third party battery as I did w/ the sentia. Otherwise your prolly stuck with AW only. And others please feel free to disagree, but from my recollection prices on these parts dont usually drop much if at all until the line is at end of life. Much like console prices drop, but controller prices remain the same for the most part.

When you get your system, call customer service and ask for the "upgrade price" of the smart bay options. As an existing customer, you get upgrade pricing of any upgrades you buy, which is usually about 10% off the gear shop prices.
