Cant Burn Disks - HELP!

I've got the TSSTcorp TS-L532B burner. All of a sudden it keeps recognizing my DVD-R media as "DVD-ROM" disks, and wont burn to them. I've tried different media (DVD-RW's), uninstalling the burner from the Device Manager, and updating the firmware.

I cant figure out whats going on with this thing. Any suggestions?

Can you burn to CDs? Do you have any DVD-/+Rs you can try? What program are you using?

Dont have any CD-R's, if you think it's important I'll get one to test with.

I've tried with DVD-R and a DVD-RW, I've used both of these particular brands many times, I've burned over 100 DVD-R's with this exact same product before.

I'm using NERO 7.0.1.2.

Try a different burning SW, I had this kind of problem and for some reason Nero seemed to have messed up. and would not reconize the drive properly.

I suspect it's a problem with the OS/registry. I've tried another program and it gives me the same response.

Why wouldnt it detect my DVD-R's as writable media? Keeps saying theyre DVD-ROMs.....

HAHA! asked my self this very question, got to thinking about it and I solved the problem! Turns out it was the ATIP Hider feature in Alcohol 120!

Thanks for the support guys. My girlfriend stormed off because I wouldnt listen to her until I fixed this. Good thing too, or I might still be here trying drowning her out and failing to get my focus on lol

Glad you solved it, last time I had this happen to me i ended up reformatting the computer

Thats the problem with softwares that have the similar purpose, they tend to conflict w/ each other.
