Hello everyone!
I am deciding on what notebook to buy.
I have some Ideas such as the dell insipron 1525- 4gb of ram, Intel core 2 duo processors etc. I was also thinking about the inspiron xps m1710. I am thinking of doing a bit of gaming but not a lot. The price is also a big factor. Which notebook should I get feel free to recommend me any other laptop.

I would recommend the 15" since you are not a dedicated gamer and i would think you do want to carry it around a lot. Also it is generally cheaper but you do not need 4Gb of ram, its a waste of money as 2Gb will do it but 3Gb if you just want it. Also it would be better if you gave more detailed info on the configs you are looking at

Thanks for the reply. So I should go for the 15'' but is there maybe another brand or something cause this will be my first notebook and I don't want to screw up.

What sort of games are you looking to play?

I think the obvious vendors is hp, gateway, and dell. They all sell really good mid end type laptops that is affordable, the easiest way is just to go to bestbuy since they have one of the better laptop collections around and would be somewhat cheaper.

there is no best buy in Europe.

The Alienware m15x is running about the same price as the Dell m1530 when configured with similar parts. I personally like the stealth mode of the m15x over the m1530. That's a good selling point for me. I'm just waiting for an LED LCD display to be offered on teh m15x.

If you're going to do medium gaming, the m1530 is great and a pretty good deal. I wouldn't recommend a 17" unless it's used almost exclusively for gaming (dragging one to class is not fun). If you're looking for a lighter/smaller one that can still play some serious games, the m1330 is pretty impressive. Seems like Dell has some of the best deals on mid-line gaming laptops.
