3DMark Vantage is out! - Page 2

scores should always be lower when the new 3dmark is released...
I have a feeling the CPU has a big affect on the score...

After getting a few errors, and running the benchmark, I get no 3DMark score, and 4750 for CPU and 4933 for GPU. There's no way a 9800 GX2 is 4 times better than an 8800GT (i.e. the top system has 20000 for GPU). It also got my CPU wrong (it added a few hundred Mhz; I really run at 3.01Ghz).

My score, for the curious folk:

http://service.futuremark.com/home.a...&resultType=19

Needless to say, I don't think it's a benchmark to benchmark benchmarks just yet LOL. Let a few revisions come out first before trusting it

edit: nevermind, the top system is running TWO 9800 GX2's (i.e. Quad SLI)

You are compare with the "super nitro cooling" OCing GPU with 2GB RAM which mean they are running "2" X 9800 GX2 which is "4" GPUs. That is lots higher compare with your single 8800GT.

But I agree, that number is really high...

I like 06 alot better!

I was starting to benchmark with my 8700s (till my 8800 comes in) and on the first test I was getting close to 2 fps...if that...lol. I then escaped and installed 06 instead :P

Will retest when I have the 8800s.

Lol - 2 was my max, but I did usually get around 0 too :P

I 'm not 100% sure, but I may buy that x9000 from ebay. However right now, this system is nice....even without the 8800s (should be shipped today) The next thing is the RAM and then the HDs, but I don't use a lot of HD space except for games :P

just get another 160GB HD, and put it as RAID.

3DMarkVantage has 4 different levels that are supposed to correspond to different levels of Video Cards. Unfortunately, only Performance is available in the Basic release. The problem with the performance level is that it is very demanding on hardware. So demanding, in fact, that Vista will time out (TDR) in systems that have under powered video. This will happen on any video system with a 64bit bus and some lower end mainstream video cards that have 128bit Bus. IMHO, Futuremark would have been better off to make entry the default as it will run on all DX10 systems.

P7100 1730 @3GHZ and 4GB DDR2 2x8800 @ 600x900

My Quad core 6600@ 3.2GHZ and 23870 Xfire gets a lower score than my 1730 does. THat benchmark must be biased towards Nvidia or something.

I am gonna wait for the update release...

Downloading and installing now. Will post results later when I get home from work. Also eVGA released a new program called eVGA Precision. You can use it to monitor temps and OC the vid cards. Do not know how well it works but will try it soon.

no he's just saying that since they'll be putting in the ranking on the website, no need for a thread anymore

Correct. We need to get the word out more. When people submit their benchmarks, it creates their own thread for people to comment in. They will all go here:

Example 1, Example 2.

I encourage everyone to submit as many benchmarks as possible here.

Steve,

just a quick question. I have not play CSS for a while. Is it truth that you have to pay a monthly fee for play CSS under Steam? I am trying to DL the newest patch for CSS, but I can not find it. Thanks
