Can I travel with 2 laptops?

Will Customs ask questions if I travel from USA to Brazil with 2 laptops in my carry on?
the most they should ask you is to turn them on and prove they're real or whatever. Then again, it seems some customs agents are idiots by a couple articles, so if you get really unlucky, who knows? Nothing's a guarantee.

Meh that would suck...Can't you have like a personal one and the other one could be your business one no?

Yeah you can... biggest problem for you is to carry two laptops around with you. Also you only present your laptop during security checkpoints, custom agents only verify the reason you are leaving/staying in their country.

u have the invoices of the laptops in question, u r set.
if not, before flying out, u can declare both items at the custom desks proving that they both belong to you, inside the form you can state what they are being used for
2 good reason for doing this:
. to cover ur properties
. on the way back, some custom officers (in many countries) can hit you with import tax or vat or whatever, if u cannot prove that these machines went out with you, and coming back with you.

turning on and off, does not always satisfy some agressive custom agents.

I traveled to Texas with two laptops. I had to take both of them out and put them through the X-ray 1 by 1. it was a pain but they didnt say anything to me about them.

Not sure about flying out of the country tho.

travelling interstates is like travelling within europe (minus U.K., minus transit) - no issue with paperwork.

travelling worldwide is a different ball game, especially when u do transit. Proof of ownership can save one lots of headache, if one travels with more than 1 comp.

cheers ...

For the record, I've traveled out of the country with 1 laptop with no bothers.
