How do i fix Dell Recovery options (F8)?

During bootup when F8 is pressed the Dell recovery options should be available, but this is not happening? (I have been pressing F8 at diffrent interval) It only goes to Vista Advanced Options, and no Recovery Options there too???? I want the Factory Restore options. So that I can restore to Factory setting from Vista image in the Dell Recovery Partition D:.

well, the trick they say is to hit F8 right after the bios splash screen (1/2" blue bar at the top of the screen)

Actually, on systems that ship with Vista, they use Vista's own recovery utility even for restoring the factory image. I can't remember off the top of my head exactly where to go, but it's in there somewhere to reimage the system. But it's Microsoft's own utility, not the Norton Ghost boot partition like on older systems.

Boot off the vista dvd and choose repair your computer option. Then do a startup repair. I have done this numerous times and it works as long as the partition is still there.

Hey Bear,

Thanks for the reply. I tried that too. Repaired some Vista PE.....Do you press CtrlF11 or F8 after the repair. I m unable to boot from the recovery partition even after repairing.
