ql2300.sys corrupted, cant perform recovery (V5120nr)

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone here can assist me because I dont know where else to turn at this point and I'm at my wits end here.

Brand: Compaq Presario
Model: v5120nr
OS: Windows XP Home
Purchased Brand New at Best Buy 2006

History:
I recently send my laptop away to the official compac service center in Texas so that they could repair a broken hinge. When I got it back it worked fine. There was no indication that they did anything with the software or hard disk, my computer came back as i left it with all my data and settings exactly as it was when I sent it out.

approximately 3 days after getting it back, i stepped away from the computer for a few minutes (to take a shower) and came back to the computer stuck in a booting loop of some sort. It would not let me access windows in safe mode or normal mode, because it said it was shutting windows down to prevent further damage.

I tried to use the hard drive's recovery partition, but that failed as well, indicating one of the files was corrupted.

I did have the good sense to make my backup discs first thing when I purchased the laptop, before even connecting it to the internet. I ran Killdisk from the CD ROM drive (a one pass zero disc erase program) Now when I try to run the recovery disks I get this:

[No Operating System installed or partition Corrupted. Press R to perform a full
PC Recovery.]

so I press r

[Preparing recovery partition - please wait.]

so i wait while the progress bar at the bottom of the screen fills too 100%

[starting recovery]

then another progress bar fills to about 25%

[The file ql2300.sys is corrupted. press any key to continue.]

I press spacebar

[Setup Failed. Press any key to restart your computer]

I have tried researching ql2300.sys via google and it appears to be some sort of driver, but I can't figure out where the error is generating from. Is the recovery program looking for the file on my hard drive or is the file on the recoevery disk itself corrupt? Or is this a file residing somewhere else in my computer that has been corrupted? I also tried searching out Qlogic's webpage for information on the driver ql2300.sys to little avail.

I have taken out the hard disk and put it in a USB enclosure to run diagnostics and the drive is mechanically and physically healthy. Im just completely stuck on this because I spent 300$ to repair the hinge so it makes little sense to send it off again for something like this. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Ql2300 is a fiber card driver

I am not sure what is going on with your laptop. As after searching on the QL2300.sys I have landed on the following post:
The file ql2300.sys is corrupted. press any key to continue.

Reading the post I can tell that the ql2300.sys is a fiber card driver, but I am not sure what would a fiber card driver do in your laptop. You might need to reinstall windows from Windows CD & might need your SATA or IDE controller driver.
