2nd Hard Drive Help for Toshiba P205-S7476

Hi;
I just bought a Toshiba P205-S7476 and wanted to ask if I can put a 2nd hard drive in it?

I opened up the square panel on the bottom where there is room for a 2nd hard drive to be installed but there is no connector in there to attach it to?

Was this model designed to take a 2nd HD in the bay?

If not can a hard drive connector for this laptop be purchased seperately so it can be installed and used as a 2nd hard drive bay?


Any help and info would be greatly appriciated..

You could solder in a SATA connector for the 2nd HDD *but* there's no guarantee at all that your particular P205 model can actually recognize and use the 2nd HDD.

You'd probably have to replaced the motherboard with one from a P205 that's factory configured for dual HDDs--which naturally would already have the 2nd HDD SATA connector installed.

That said, it's far cheaper for Toshiba to use only one laptop case for all the 35 or so Satellite P205 models than to use two different cases, one with the 2nd HDD cavity and one without.

Thank you for your reply and info , I had no idea that the MB was different as I assumed the HDD connector could be purchased seperatly and just poped in..

I'll put the xtra HD into my HP DV9200US as it already has a free bay
