New Dell Inspirons Leaked

Thread Starter
The designs for the next generation of Inspiron laptops have been leaked and Engadget has the story and some pics. They are numbered as 1435, 1535, and 1735. The 1735 and 1535 are due out the 9th of June and 26th of this month, respectively, with the 1435 slated for release later this year. Though there doesn't seem to be a large amount of specs available at this point.

While not quite as exciting as March's week of Latitude scoops, we've got ourselves some infos on what look to be Dell's upcoming Inspiron 1435, 1535 and 1735 consumer laptops. Seems they'll all be sharing the same basic design language, pictured above, and will be privy to some rather expansive aesthetic customization options if you're into that type of thing. Specs are the typical Dell smorgasbord of options, but all three laptops start at around 1-inch thick and taper up to 1.5 inches thick. All three also sport slot-loading drives, with a Blu-ray option, and processors ramp up to Core 2 Duo T5850 2.16GHz chips. 3G options are also available across the lineup, and just about anything else you might find useful in a mid-range laptop. Apparently the 1435 isn't due until October, but the 1735 is coming on June 9 and the 1535 on the 26th of this month.

Maybe I should cancel my xps 1730 order and wait for this 1735, lol.
Nice that they keep getting better and better

is it just me or does that look suspiciously like the asus W2 notebook.... right down to the slot loading drive.

wonder where dell got their design cues.

I guess they've got to be applauded for trying to give people a less boring design.......can't say I'm keen on slot loading or the lid/hinge design that means a 9 cell is going to hang out under the back and heat exhaust vents will be on the side.....the full width screen cover looks good,as long as it doesn't make it too flexible and easily damaged when its closed.

Will these new dells feature montevina techology (centrino 2)?
It's hard to imagine that they won't.

Actually DELL might be getting ready to phase out the XPS linup which would be unfortunate:
