asus V1J restarts after BIOS

i was watching an .avi and all of a sudden the pic freezes and the sound skips like a record player. no inputs work, i hold down the power button to shut it off.

now the computer will go through the bios screen, then restart, then go back to the bios, then restart, etc....

heeeeeeeeeeelp!

have you tried changing your boot order in BIOS and booting from the recovery CD?
