Based on the specifications I would say it's a great deal. Typically these systems only come with Vista Home for that price and the fact that it includes the low-jack feature is great (although I think you pay a monthly service fee for it). All in all I'd say go for it. I bought my T61p custom ordered with the features I wanted, but mine only has a 100GB hdd because I wanted the 7200rpm drive plus I had a budget to watch, I did go with the WUXGA screen which allows it to run a native resolution of 1920 x 1200. Even with all of the discounts that Lenovo was offering at the time plus my student discount of 5% off my order still came to around $1600 (mainly because of the WUXGA screen) Although the one you're looking at doesn't have that screen type it still offers a load of features and a 4 year warranty to boot. If I were you I would go directly to the Lenovo website
http://www.lenovo.com/thinkpad and build a custom laptop just to see how much the cost difference is. Note that Lenovo has been offering discounts for the past several months, they just had a coupon code that took 36% off the entire order however it expired on the 19th of May. Chances are they'll offer another code sometime soon and they're still offering 25% off right now. Poke around on google, chances are there's a coupon floating around the net. That's what I did. Hope this helps.
