Yeah I tried that, no go. It doesn't even seem like the device is present. I heard someone else mention something about the memory card reader and the wireless switch frying each other out or something...Does anyone have more info on that?
Tried reloading the OS from the factory disks (of course I imaged my drive just to be sure). Still no go...The weird thing is that this happened around the time I enabled AHCI for the SATA controller..Anyone running AHCI enabled and have no memory card reader problems?
My current install is XP, which I reactivated AHCI after installation (by pre-install the drivers and going through that whole shebang) When I reinstalled the OS to test it recently though I used the factory restore disk from Gateway which installed Vista Home Premium (but I kept AHCI enabled, since Vista can detect it apparently).
i know of many instances where re-enabling AHCI after XP installation caused some issue with disk and power management. It never had any issues if AHCI was left alone and XP slipstreaning with SATA driver from the start. I m not sure if this has anything to do with ur current issue with the card reader. Interesting if there is such corolation
