M1330 vs. E1420

So, as much as I love my E1705 it is way too bulky for any activities requiring too much transport (school). I wanted to know based purely on quality and overall enjoyment factor which laptop you would suggest.

Also take style into consideration, I like slick laptops

I'd go for the M1330 personally just because of the option for the LED screen, which seems to cut a fair hunk off the thickness again.
While I'm not really a fan of wedge shaped laptops or slot loading drives,I think it very much suits the portable nature of the M1330 and it does look better than the very, very, plain vostro's.

From what I've read about the two, with equivalent components the vostro runs pretty cool, where as there's a few complaints here and there about heat with the m1330.

While I prefer 14 to 13.3,I think in this case I'd go with the M1330

Really, your gonna love carrying around whichever you choose, compared to your 17"

I recently purchased a m1330 after lugging a e1705 for a year and a half, its like night and day, especially if you are traveling on a plane or passenger in a car. I got a t9300 cpu so it runs cool and its has great speed opening apps. you will love it.

The vostro 1400 is the same as the inspiron 1420 and generally cheaper. Plus I think they just released a new 13" vostro.

Dell XPS M1330, hands down. The small size, light weight, style, LED-backlit screen, and gaming / multimedia performance made it the best laptop of 2007. It is easily still the best option for lots of power in a small package.
