Trouble getting ReadyBoost to work

Hi, I'm having trouble getting ReadyBoost to work with my 4GB SanDisk flash-drive, which is ReadyBoost enabled.

At first, i didn't have any problems, and ReadyBoost worked great, speeding up my system, and allowed me to play some resource-intensive games like Gears of War, without a hitch.

However, i have had troubles getting ReadyBoost to work lately. When I click on properties of my flash-drive and go to ReadyBoost, i get message:

"A cache exists on another device in the system. Please remove cache from that device before creating a cache on this device"

Obviously, i don't have another device that's attached to my system. I have 4 USB 2.0 ports, one of which is connected to a cooling device, one connected to a mouse, one to a XBOX 360 wireless controller, and one for my flash-drive.

I had gotten this message in the past, but all i had to do to fix it was to reboot my system and it would allow ReadyBoost to work. Now, even that isn't working.

So, how can i go about fixing this? How do i remove the cache from another device when it doesn't even exist?? Please help!

I have an Asus G1-B1S, Intel C2D T7700 @ 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 8600M 256MB VRAM, Windows Vista Home Premium SP1

I've gone to Turbo Memory options and have turned them off and then back on again after a reboot... to no avail.

Any other suggestions?

the way i understood, if u leave the turbo memory options on, vista will not see the sd (or usb) card as a device for ready boost. Try just to leave them off first and see
