Latitude D530 over XPS M1530

Hi,

i've been using a inspiron 510m laptop for four years now and although still happy with it I could use a little extra speed (but I don't game on it).
I'm not in a hurry and like browsing the forums, checking the coupons etc. Is was actuallly thinking to get the M1530 because of it's slick and stylish looks. The whole Samsung SEC screens versus LG screen-thing has put me off quite a bit. I'm also getting nervous about getting a glossy screen anyway.
However I got my mother a D630 laptop the other day but the 1280x800 (matte, LG) screen is horrible in my opinion (low brightness, very bad viewing angle).
I've always been happy with my current 1400x1050 matte screen (LGPD154 ?).

What can I expect from the D530's screen?
Should I trade in the looks and the penryn processor of the XPS and get a D530?

Thanks for your input!
(ps. I'm from the netherlands so can't get the exact same deals)

Hi Max.
If you like the more modern styling of the XPS M1530,what about the Vostro 1510 ?,can have a matt screen @ 1280x800 or 1440x900,newer penryn cpu's,integrated graphics or a 8400,some of the flashy features of the 1530 like the touch sensitive controls and slot loading drive plus similar sort of styling except for being all black.
No docking option though, but neither does the 1530.
Also can get it with XP pro if you desire.
Something else for you to consider anyway and they're pretty damned cheap as well, compared to the D530.

Its always a bit of a gamble with dells wide aspect screens though,in some parts of the world, like where I live [NZ] dell pretty much only supplies samsung screens with whichever model you get.

From what I remember, the 4:3 15" screens dell used always seemed pretty consistent quality.

I presume dell in Holland or EU would have some sort of satisfaction policy if you weren't happy with what you received ?

thanks for your reply! The new vostro looks good but the vostro with T8100 is not the best deal at the moment (prices in euro's including VAT to get you some idea). The cheapest Vostro seems like the most rational choice but I might want to treat myself something more. I might try and call Dell to get a better deal on the D530. Still have a media bay battery that would fit this laptop. Great concept but for some reason only availabke in this type.
