Rjtech.com used to sell clevo parts. I think they had the 7950 for a while...

Wouldn't it be nice if you could fit an 8 series card in there....

There's a user here by the name of Iced-Tea that sells vid cards. He might either be able to sell you one, or he might know where you can find one.

Here's his profile - http://www.notebookforums.com/member.php?u=59462

And here's his website, but it isn't working for me...

hi fellas thanks for the replys and the help.

ok so still no luck in getting a new gpu but im still looking. now the problem seems to be something else. the laptop screen will just go blank randomly and doesnt come back on so i end up having to power it down and turn it on again which the system will either load up or not at all
so with a quick swipe at it the screen it came back on so now im thinking maybe its just a lose connection somewhere between the lcd and the graphics card, my quick swipe repair skills brought me to this conclusion anyways i need a some help locating these connections and havent a clue where to start on opening up the laptop so before i start to chisel away at it with a screwdriver i was hoping i can find some sort of how to here.
anyhelp would be much appreciated thank you again.

Here's a link to AW's knowledge base article on reseating the lcd cables for the m7700.

It might be your inverter panel. There have been a few people here that had to replace that part.

hi thanks for the help i followed the link on how to reseat the lcd cables and still the same problem. so if its a problem with the inverter panel how would i get to that ? would i need to split the lcd casing for this ?

thanks for your help.

got to the inverter panel behind the screen splitting it wasnt as bad as i thought, cant see anything obviously wrong with that.

laptop wont boot up and the 2 cd drives just make a clicking noise, i have read on the forums that this could be a fried mobo which i dont know how it would fry as i usually have the fans on full power.
my system is a p4 mobo version 6.1 nvidia geforce go 7800 gtx
might take it all apart and see what i find also going to redo the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu when i get the time
also is the amd version better than the intel and if it is my mobo would i be able to swap it straight over to a amd mobo?

thanks again.

It could be a bad inverter, or a bad mobo. Unfortunately, the mobo's in that clevo model are susceptable to burning out capacitors near the cpu.
