Macbook pro - windows server headscratcher..

So here's one for you guru's out there, hopefully a simple solution.

I'm running a MBP with Leopard successfully for the last 6 months, connecting to our Windows 2003 server at the office, both through RDC for an office software and an smb server connection to see common files.

In the last few days, whenever I connect to the server, the most recent files that I can see on the server are dated back to 2006. I can't see anything with a more recent date, even stuff that I've saved there. All of the files are there but not visible via my finder window.

Any ideas on settings or something I can try to solve this? I haven't made any changes to my setup that I'm aware of.

perplexed,

Well you have thrown a new one at me, I will see if anyone here can tackle it otherwise I will see what a bit of research turns up on that one. I assume the files are visible from the terminal?

yeah, if I go to the desktop, click "G" and connect that way, it appears that I can see all the files. Through the finder window though, everything past 2006 is invisible.

Thanks for any help!

Hmm I just noticed which topic this was in, gonna move the thread over to Support while I give someone else a chance first. Sounds like a problem with Finder though, I haven't been to impressed with the bugger myself for anything but the most basic file management. Might be another limitation of it you are running into here.

Just wondering, are you logging-in through smb with the right username/password?

Perhaps, you are seeing the files from another account on your Win2k3 server.

Sometimes, when I connect to my Vista machine it uses Guest, sometimes my login info.
