Oh man this is getting ridiculous. You're order is 2 days behind mine....their latest line to me was June 5 when the part arrives. I hope that hasn't changed because I am going to be really unhappy. This is what I was eluding to in the beginning of this thread. Just give me a straight answer as to when the part will arrive. They SHOULD definately be able to do that regardless of what is causing the delay. They order a part and the place tells them when to expect it. Even if they screw it up...it shouldn't be more than once. This will be the THIRD time...assuming the date has changed. I'll keep you posted.

Wait....did you PLACE the order on the 6th or is that when the payment went through?

And so I've been told that June 13th is the "new" date for the chassis to arrive. I spoke to Frank Moralez today and was "promised" that my comp will be given some sort of official priority. We'll see. I just don't get how the date keeps changing. How is an order put in for something and then changed so many times? I've been told 3 different dates this week and its only Tuesday! Anyway thats about the most up to date info I have. If anyone else hears anything PLEASE let me know. Thanks so much.

You are dealing with a chain of suppliers.
They are probably basing their dates on the input they are getting from the suppliers of the chasis.
We deal with these types of things all the time a work. You have your typical lead times for parts and then things don't arrive on time or the supplier has a problem and didn't bother to infrom you in time.
The changing dates are driving me crazy and I have not even ordered mine yet, so I understand your frustration. It would be nice if they only charged your credit card once it has shipped.
I don't know what they could do differently except communicate better. It sounds like parts are not passing QA and that throws the dates odd as well.

That's my $.02. Hope this is not redundant.

And now for the update that was bound to happen it seems..........

My HDD died after ONE EFFING WEEK OF USE!!! AW wanted me to send the entire thing back until I brought it home from work and figured out on my own that it was the HDD. So now they are sending me a new HDD via Fedex Ground. (Sarcasm beginning now...) Which totally makes sense considering I just spent $3100 on a laptop that I waited for for 2 months and got to use a whole 7 days...Why SHOULD they feel obliged to send the HDD overnight or 2 day?? I mean its not like I don't have any other computer to use. But that isn't AW's problem!!! I know I am flaming AW and I will stop...but this is just so unfair.

Black screen...almost like it was stuck in sleep....reset.....2 error messages...can't remember what they were but I googled and it said they were indicative of HDD failure.

did it boot up and spin the hard drive... could be ram or something else...
