Motherboard Question ''whats my model''

Thread Starter
I need some help, I have a Compaq v6105nr, and it had a spill on the keyboard so I had to buy a new Motherboard. So like a dummy I bought one on Ebay and it said it was a Compaq v6000 motherboard... But when I installed it it works great but a HP logo comes up, not a Compaq logo, that dosen't seem right.
Whatever when I went into BIOS to see what type model it was, in the system model place it was blank???
Anyway I contacted HP to ask how I can find out what model MOBO I bought they sent me a link for Hardware detection software, which did the samething it came up blank no MOBO info at all..
PLEASE HELP me find out what model my MOBO is....PLEASE!!!

as long as both boards have the same ports on them and it works, it shouldnt matter if it boots up hp and its a compaq, same company.

To make sure its the same part number, remove both sticks of ram memory and you will find the white sticker with black text showing you the part number for the board.

here is the part number for the board out of the factory: 434726-001

you can also go to www.hp.com and click Support. there will be an option to find drivers and then their website can auto-detect what exact model board is in your unit now and give you the correct hardware drivers as well...
