"PWJ" Brazilian laptop?

Anyone heard of this brand? I think it's Brazilian. Hard as hell to find info on it though.

Anyway, this puppy is claiming specs almost identical to the Dell XPS m1730, which I find hard to believe due to it's ridiculously low cost.

Here's the specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900 (2.8GHz/4MB L2/ 800MHz FSB)
Dual Nvidia GeForce 8700M-GT in SLI (256MB each)
Dual 200GB 7200RPM Hitachi drives in RAID 0 (striped data)
4GB DDR2-667 RAM in dual-channel

Never guess how much I paid for that.

No,never heard of them.

I sincerely hope your not going to get ripped, because there seems something really dodgy about all the Pwj laptops on ebay......you know....12.1 inch screens with sli etc.......but then,I'm a suspicious type.

Let us know how you get on.

Hey Gerryjoson,
How much did you pay for your XPS with the 8800GT in it? That's really what I was aiming for, but they look pricey.

I'll definitely keep you posted on the PWJ. I had to try it out for as low as they were going for. Curiosity got the better of me. Soon as it arrives in the mail I'm running Aida32 on it to make sure it's got everything it claims to have - lol.

I'm not worried about the 12.1 screen because I plan to hook it up to a 19-inch monitor w/keyboard both at home and offshore - so that part I can deal with.

I live in New Zealand and paid the equivalent to 3000.00 USD,people have bought them much cheaper in the US for similar spec's,but thats always the case.......they're actually much cheaper locally than they were a couple of years ago,by a considerable amount

Funny, I'm brazilian, I live here (or "there", whichever you choose), I follow NBF discussions since 2004 and never heard of it.

Yeah. =/ I just found out that it's most likely a scam.
Ebay contacted me and told me to get with Paypal and file a claim. It appears that the seller removed all his items from Ebay, and canceled his user account (it had about 40 positive feedbacks at 99% so it sounded decent enough to buy from).
So the moral of the story is, stay away from anything labeled "Pwj." Or better yet, stay away from anything offering the same specs as the Dell XPS m1730 for only $500.
