lcd flicker

hi .. i have a alienware 766 sn3 laptop ..i have a problem with the lcd screen in my laptop .. the display jus blanks out some time ..even when i am workin on the system.. there is a flicker in the lcd display before it goes off.. its flicker for abt 3 secs and blacks out completely .. but when i move my laptop lcd screen forwards and backward ,the display is back again and stay perfect after that .. think there is lose contact somewhere .. can anybody help me of how to rectify the problem ..

could be ur lcd inverter could be loose or going out...

where is the lcd inverter in my laptop placed.. can it be reseated or somethin..

First, there's a small switch under the lce panel right next to the hinge. This switch can get gummed up a bit and stick causing the lcd to flicker or shut off. Check that first.

Here's AW's knowledge base article on the switch.

If you think the inverter panel is bad, you'll need to find parts. Laptopking, and excel computer are two places that have AW used parts...

BTW, if you go to the knowledge base page, and put 766 in as the search word, you'll get pages of info on the 766.
