Acer Aspire 7720G

Hi there peeps im new here but had the 7720G 5 months now its a good laptop battery a bit naff dont last long hour an half tops lol and acer management free stuff kept crashing laptop ok now i unistalled but the reason im posting is the front earphone jack wont work it seem's to be aprob ive seen others post this i need this to work to use a program i use alot ..... other post menstion upgrading the bios ..... as yet iv not learned how to do this or even if it would help, the bios theory suggest it a software prob ???? .... but also herd it's a hardware prob so dont know where i stand with this issue ..... anyone got or had this dilemma any help advise welcome in advance

Hi thanks for post i hav tried a clean install but it didnt change any thing just made laptop crash cos of acer stuff again ........ plus i read on another forum that someone cured it by updateing the bois form ver "v1.33" to "v1.34" altho that cured the phone jack it gave pc startup brop's the finished by saying waiting for "v1.35" but dont hold ya breath lol ....... but i also read that it's a hardware prob on the motherboard ?????

taken in consideration that ur laptop is still new and under warranty; i would say - send it back

obviously yes i still hav that option but dont wont to be with out my laptop for weeks months if it's somthing like a bios update i can do myself ....... constructive intervention please

. it was one of the constructive intervention :-)
. updating the bios under warranty is a bit risqué, unless one that is officially stated by acer themselves of the exact issue.
. i saw a few acer service returns that were amazingly quick
