Vaio PCG-K33 died after cleaning

Hi there,

I have a Sony PCG-K33 that developed an extremely loud fan. I figured it could be remedied by getting rid of some dust, so I took out the keyboard, removed the top cover, and blew compressed air through the fans, out the vents in the bottom. After putting it back together, when I try to turn it on, the LED's come on, the fans come on for 1 second, and nothing else happens.

Any idea what the culprit might be? The fans were spinning freely when I cleaned them; could I have damaged them? Would that keep the computer from booting up at all?

Thanks in advance

well, you shouldn't let the fans spin when you blow out the air, but I wouldn't think that'd keep it from booting at all.

um i might have the solution, i have a sony fs760/w and some time back it just died, when i would go to turn it on, the led lights would turn on for a sec and then nothing. This might sound a bit dumb but the cause of the problem was actually the little trigger thats is pressed by the screen teeth when it is closed. that trigger got stuck some how and thats what caused my laptop to be like that. hope this might be of use

It's possible, since I had to take it apart to clean it. I'll try that, thanks.
