I have personally installed a T7300/T7500 and the T8300 into it. Best bang for the buck would be the T8300

Awesome. Thanks for that advice. I just found a cheap T7300 engineering sample up on fleabay. I think that'll get me by for a while.

Chipset won't support it (965) as opposed to the 945 (T7200...)

T7200 looks like a socket M CPU,
T5550 looks like a socket P CPU.
Maybe that's the problem.
I have a E1705, I just ordered a P6860FX.
